Emulsion painter, Perry Thompson was born in the farmlands of Garrettsville, Ohio. He attended the Cooper School of Art in Cleveland, Ohio and furthered his studies at Kent State University receiving a degree in Fine Arts.
Perry and his wife Joanne live in Cape Coral, Florida where they formed their own successful fine art and marketing studio in 1987. His paintings starts with film emulsion from a photo that is in a liquid state, by moving and painting with the film emulsion, he creates a distorted fluid image. The image is then transferred to a large sheet of watercolor paper where pastels and paint are added. The results are a fluid, vibrant, unique looking painting.
Gaining wide acclaim, his works include paintings that are in private collections and museums in Santa Barbara, California. His art is displayed at Tower Gallery Sanibel, Florida; and he has been accepted into “American Art Collector”.
Perry paints many hidden tropic scenes of Florida to help preserve and educate people on these natural landscape treasures. His tropic scenes are now available as signed giclees on watercolor paper or canvas.
